Daniel McQuestin

How long have you been at Telstra Child Flight and what is your role?
I have been working at TCF since March and I am a Co-Pilot.

What is your background?
I have been flying for five years, mainly within the armed forces. I have flown withthe Australian Military, Army and mainly the Air Force. I had the opportunity to travel all over Australia with this job.

And do recommend anywhere in particular in Australia that we should go?
Definitely Perth. You can go diving, fishing, four-wheel driving or visit the
wineries.

What’s your favourite thing about your job?
I really enjoy working with the people at TCF and NETS. They’re all so professional and at the same time just a great bunch of people.

What do you most enjoy about flying?
I like flying at Christmas, because all the kids think I’m Santa!

What enticed you to flying?
Ever since I was a kid I wanted to be a World War II fighter pilot - I guess I was born fifty years too late!

What do you do in your spare time?
At the moment I’m learning how to sail, I also like bush walking and playing the guitar.

So you’re quite the budding musician then?
I’ve been playing since I was a kid. I’m originally from Tasmania and I used to play in a cover band down there, but I’ve since moved to Sydney and I haven’t found anyone to play with yet. I’m thinking of moving to the city, surely I’ll fi nd someone there!
