Jasper takes a ride in the Telstra Child Flight chopper
Telstra Child Flight was called to Wollongong Hospital to transport
two and a half year old Jasper Bambrick to Sydney Children's Hospital
for intensive care treatment.
Jasper's mother Hilary noticed her son looking unwell in the afternoon
and became concerned. Soon after, the youngster was rushed to Wollongong
Hospital suffering multiple prolonged seizures.
''Jasper has suffered from complex febrile convulsions since birth
so I've become familiar with some of the warning signs prior to a
seizure.''
Upon arrival Jasper suffered yet another seizure. Doctors advised
the family it was necessary to transport Jasper to Sydney Children's
Hospital at Randwick as the hospital had intensive care facilities
needed to stabilise his condition as his condition.
Telstra Child Flight was called to transport Jasper, with the flight
to Randwick taking only twenty five minutes, allowing Jasper speedy
access to the specialist treatment he urgently required.
''Jasper was placed on anti convulsive therapy and monitoring and
spent two nights in Sydney before we were able to take him home.''
''He is now doing well and loves to tell people about his ride in
the Telstra Child Flight chopper.''
''Thank you to the pilots, we felt in such safe hands. Everyone
did a great job, being gentle, competent and efficient.''
Telstra Child Flight is the only emergency helicopter transport
service in the Southern Hemisphere dedicated solely to the retrieval
